So who am I and why should you listen to me?

My  name is Puneet Tandon, and  like many of you, I “explored” multiple careers before finding my calling.  I grew up as an amateur tap and jazz dancer, trained to become a professional tennis player at The Nick Bollettieri/IMG Tennis Academy, briefly studied standup comedy, and eventually settled into the world of business.

I began my business career as an executive and technical recruiter working to place people into full time jobs, reviewing resumes, and providing career coaching.  Since then, I’ve armed myself with an MBA from The University of Chicago Booth School of  Business, and have been fortunate to work with or for some of the most recognized brands in the country including Jawbone, T-Mobile, Bose, G.E., Merrill Lynch, Sony, HP, Facebook, Microsoft,  The United Way, Fox, and more.   I’ve held a variety of roles including social entrepreneur, venture capitalist, product manager, strategy consultant, and business development ninja.

So what can you expect?

At What’s Your Gig you’ll get a front row seat to my conversations with people outside of the traditional corporate world with unique and unconventional careers such as executive chefs, interior designers, stand up comics, and more.

To supplement my conversations, I’ll also be sharing both my lessons learned as well as a pragmatic approach to networking in these fields, interview preparation, and career development.
